Garrett Cosenza is the Director of Winemaking at Firstleaf Wine Club and Penrose Hill Winery, where he oversees domestic and international wine portfolios, guides production strategy and helps develop wines for Firstleaf’s direct-to-consumer membership platform.
His career spans boutique wineries and large-scale commercial winemaking. Before joining Firstleaf, Garrett worked in research winemaking at E. & J. Gallo Winery, contributing to wine development and the growth of brands including Apothic Red. His previous experience also includes winemaking roles at Pope Valley Winery, Tamber Bey Vineyards and Crossbarn by Paul Hobbs Winery.
With experience in wine sourcing, product development, blending and production at different scales, Garrett brings a valuable buyer and winemaker perspective to the IBWSS Bulk Wine Buyers Panel. He will share insights into how buyers evaluate bulk wine opportunities and balance quality, consistency, commercial objectives and consumer preferences when building successful wine portfolios.
